Project Summary
We provided LifeChemicals with a solution that offers a potent compound search engine and collaborative tools for more efficient process organization. It helps customers streamline their core business processes and elevate inventory management capabilities to new heights.
Challenges
LifeChemicals faced significant challenges stemming from an inadequately structured compound database, storing information from over 30 years of operations.
Because of their legacy solution relying on the ISIS chemical cartridge, the customer had difficulties with locating chemical components within their warehouses and physical locations, and suffered from slow response time and poor database manageability. The customer also lacked centralized ELN and LIMS that were vital for their workflow management.

We successfully migrated the customer’s database involving data on 20 million molecules from over 30 years of operations from a legacy ISIS chemical cartridge to the secure and manageable RDKit setup.
Molecules Structured Search
We implemented a powerful search engine that allows the users to effortlessly locate any compound from the extensive list of over 10 millions of molecules and chemical reactions with just a few clicks and within seconds.
Electronic Lab Notebook for R&D Laboratories

We also implemented ELN and LIMS functionality for efficient workflow management across 8 departments.
Testing and Quality Assurance
After the development, our solution went through rigorous testing. We ran integration testing, unit testing, performance testing, and user acceptance testing to ensure that the solution runs smoothly and without any bugs.
Data Migration
We migrated the customer’s existing data from over 30 years of operations (compounds, sales orders, synthesis, purchases, quality control spectra files, etc.) from the ISIS chemical cartridge to the secure and manageable RDKit setup.
Compound Search Engine
Selecting the right engine for searching chemical compounds by sub-structure was a critical and complex step. We thoroughly analyzed the customer’s compound database and the complexity of searches before deciding from multiple available solutions.
Deployment and Integration
Once the testing was passed, we deployed the solution to the client’s environment. We also integrated it with other parts of their digital infrastructure.
Training and Documentation
We helped the customer train employees on how to use the new software as well as provided all necessary documentation to familiarize the teams with its features and functionality.
Maintenance and Support
After the deployment, we continuously provide the needed maintenance and support and solve any issues that may arise, including bug fixes, software updates, or user queries.
