3 AI Micro SaaS Ideas You Can Launch In 2024 as a Solo Founder
You want to build a software company but you don’t have an idea? I’ve got your back. In this article, I’ll share 3 very specific software startup ideas with AI integrations that are very easy to build and launch.
AI is still riding high on the hype, and just mentioning that your tool is built with AI will give you an edge in marketing and selling it. Additionally, all three of these SaaS ideas can be implemented without a deep understanding of the niche and industry.
And the best part? These ideas are not full-featured tech products or apps. You can implement each of these ideas as micro-SaaS in the form of a browser extension, some addon, or plugin for other existing services and platforms. So, your developers won’t need to spend months developing the first MVP version. Instead, you can launch it within a few weeks.
And unlike most other of the similar tops with software ideas, I won’t give you some generic things like a new CRM or chatbots. I’ll provide very specific ideas with the niche and functions that you need to build for a specific type of people.
What is SaaS?
For those of you who don’t know what SaaS is. SaaS stands for Software as a Service. SaaS is software that’s usually available online as a web or mobile app and is useful on its own as a technical tool. Examples include Zoom, Slack, Gmail, or Salesforce. It’s typically rented on a monthly basis for a fee.
But if you want to learn more about what SaaS is, on this channel you will find more information on this topic.
Idea №1. AI Plugin for Existing CRM
Since 2011, my agency, SoftFormance, has built over 30 CRMs from scratch for different clients. These clients come from many fields such as construction, solar energy, marketing, flooring, consulting, beauty salons, hotels, cafes, campgrounds, and many more.
And here is something interesting:
90% of these custom CRMs we built are just like the big ones you know – HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or Drip. They all share the same basic features. Only about 5 to 10% of what we built was new stuff that clients needed.
So, there’s a big chance for you if you’re into software and know a lot about sales and marketing in a certain area. Don’t try to make a whole new CRM to sell. Instead, make small upgrades for the sales process. And add these to CRMs that already exist.
Think about what’s missing in these CRMs. For example:
- Templates ready for social media or emails followups
- Or a smart script that sorts leads and assigns them Priority
- Or ChatGPT integration to help sales reps with answers, phone call scripts, and email template
- Or a special tool for making proposals and quotes easier,, like for construction or marketing
For instance, say you know a lot about sales in construction. You see that many construction firms use Salesforce, but it lacks a good tool for building project quotations. So you could hire software developers to make an add-on for Salesforce that brings in a construction quotation builder. This way, you work on a small project (micro-SaaS) and quickly test the market.
Idea №2. Content Recommendation Platform
I’ve committed to a challenge to grow my social media accounts to 10k followers in 2024. Since the new year, I’ve been regularly posting content on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. I’ve noticed that creating content takes as much time as researching and choosing the right topics.
I use tools like Ubersuggest by Neil Patel, AnswerThePublic, vidIQ, and more. And they all focus on keyword-based research. But I’d really like a tool that suggests content based on trends, like Google Trends, trending audio on IG reels, and popular topics on TikTok. Because this could help spread my content through algorithms faster. This would be an excellent micro-SaaS idea.
The market for keyword-based research tools is over-saturated now. But we don’t have that many trend-based recommendation tools yet. Your developers can build such tools easily using APIs for trending information.

And you can cover only some marketing channels or social networks at a time. Start with one content type and one social media channel.
Also, you don’t have to build a full web or mobile app for that. A simple Google Chrome extension showing stats next to Google search results would work, similar to Ubersuggest and vidIQ.

This fresh idea with available APIs makes it one of my top AI Micro-SaaS ideas.
Idea №3: Inbox Assistant
This is my top pick. If you offer it to me for a $200/month subscription, I’ll sign up right away! Two years ago, I read Dan Martel’s book “Buy Back Your Time.” It made me a huge fan, and now I’m in his Elite Coaching Mastermind. But I’m getting off track. Back to the book. I’m not his product affiliate.

Dan’s first tip for entrepreneurs: hire a personal executive assistant to manage your email box. So, I hired Olena. And as the CEO of a software development agency, I stopped checking my business and my personal emails within two weeks. Olena organized my folders and kept unnecessary distractions out. And I loved it.
But there are downsides. First, a good part-time executive assistant costs at least $1,000-$2,000 a month, often more. Second, humans can make errors, so I sometimes miss important emails. That’s why I’d love software that accesses my email box, organizes it, and learns what’s important to me, keeping my inbox clean. Only essential emails should go into my “Review” Gmail folder
Many existing AI service could help here, so you wouldn’t start from scratch. The software just needs to follow 5-7 guidelines from Dan’s book. And with your developers, you don’t have to build a fully-featured web or mobile app for this.

A simple Google Chrome extension that works on Gmail.com domain could do the job. A developer could create an MVP in a few weeks, not months. I’d build it with my team, but we’re busy with another SaaS idea right now and also overloaded with client work since the year started. But if not, I’d definitely build, launch it, and profit from this great idea!
Here are 3 AI Micro-SaaS ideas that meet all the criteria on my successful digital product checklist. If I were searching for new SaaS projects to start, the last one would be my choice.
